Major ice hockey celebration in the Official Fan Zones

The major ice hockey celebration will not only take place inside the Swiss Life Arena and the BCF Arena: the two Official Fan Zones in Zurich and Fribourg with free entry invite fans to experience the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship atmosphere up close before and after games or even without a ticket.

Whether cheering together at the public viewing, looking for souvenirs in the Official Merchandising Shop, participating in activities and winning prizes offered by Official Sponsors and Partners, or enjoying a wide range of culinary offerings – the Official Fan Zones provide the perfect setting for an all-round successful 2026 IIHF WM experience.

The Official Fan Zone in Zurich is easily reached by following the Walk of Legends next to the Swiss Life Arena. Fans may win game tickets by participating in the mobile game to hunt for a missing star every day. It will also be possible to take a photo with the official trophy of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, as it will be on display at the activation space of the Official Main Sponsor Skoda near the Official Fan Zone entrance.

Another ice hockey experience is on offer with two synthetic ice rinks or at the ice hockey mini golf course spread across the Official Fan Zone. Grab some ice hockey gear and give it a try. By the way: on May 23 at 12:30 PM, a Swiss Legends game featuring former players of the Swiss national team will take place on the synthetic ice rink – including an autograph session.

Numerous concerts will be staged at both Official Fan Zones in Zurich and Fribourg, including one each by Bastian Baker, author of the Official Song. Many other daily activities round off the program and make the Official Fan Zones a highlight for fans from all nations. In Fribourg, the Official Fan Zone is reachable via a sign-posted Fan Walk from the city center. It starts at the 2026 IIHF WM arch located at the intersection of Rue de Lausanne and Rue Saint-Michel.

Check out the Official Fan Zone sections in the Fan Guide for daily event highlights such as concerts or DJ performances and other daily updates.
