Dear Volunteers
Some of you we had the pleasure of meeting in person today at the Kick-off Event in Winterthur. We will meet the rest of you at a later stage. Either way, excitement is building and your assignment is just around the corner.
We would therefore like to remind you of the most important tasks you need to complete for your assignment at the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship:
- Confirm your shifts
- Complete the Respect in the Workplace program
- Collect your accreditation
- Pick up your clothing
- Connect with your Department Heads
- Read the Volunteer Handbook
- Register for or deregister from the Farewell Event
Shift Planning
If you have not yet confirmed your shifts, please do so immediately. The detailed shift planning is now available on the Volunteer platform. Each of your shifts must be confirmed under “My Shifts” by clicking the checkmark on the far right to ensure your final assignment. You will find all the information in the explanatory video.
By the way: If you are unable to attend a shift or your availability has changed, please contact our Volunteer team directly at volunteers.zurich@2026.iihfworlds.com. The Volunteer team will update the changes on the platform for you, as you cannot make these adjustments yourself.

Respect in the Workplace
The IIHF "Respect in the Workplace" program ensures that fair play, respect, and the integrity of the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship are upheld at all times. It is a 90-minute online workshop, available in either English or French. The program is mandatory for all volunteers and must be fully completed before your first shift. At the end, you will receive a completion certificate, which you must save.
Due to an update by the International Ice Hockey Federation, the platform for our Integrity Workshop has been changed.
- If you have already completed and saved your certificate on the "Integrity Program IIHF" platform, you can ignore the Headversity platform.
- If you do not yet have a certificate, you must now register on Headversity and complete the course on that platform.
- If you have already started the workshop but have not yet received a certificate, you must also register on Headversity and complete the course on this platform.

Collection of Your Accreditation
To ensure that all volunteers can start their assignment on time at the event venue, it is mandatory that each volunteer collects their accreditation before their first shift. Accreditation badges are personal and must be picked up at the official accreditation centre. The accreditation must be collected in person and cannot be received by third parties. Please bring an official photo ID (passport or identity card) that you used for the application.
The Accreditation Centre is located next to the Swiss Life Arena at the Home of Volunteers at Vulkanstrasse 120, 8048 Zurich, on the 1st floor of the AMAG building. The opening hours of the Zurich accreditation centre can be found in the Volunteer Handbook.
Clothing
The clothing was handed out at today’s kick-off event. If you were unable to attend today, you can collect your clothing from the Home of Volunteers from 8 May 2026 and before your first assignment.
The clothing pack consists of the following items: 1 backpack, 3 polo shirts, 1 sweatshirt, 1 softshell jacket and 1 cap.
Due to delivery delays, we were unfortunately unable to hand out the full clothing pack at the kick-off event. We thank you very much for your understanding. The missing items can also be collected from the Home of Volunteers from 8 May 2026.
The clothing must be collected in person upon presentation of your accreditation and cannot be collected by a third party. Please allow sufficient time for this so that you can collect the clothing in good time before your assignment begins.
Connecting with your Department Heads
We hope you had the chance to meet your department heads in person today. From now on, please communicate directly with your respective area leads. They are your main point of contact for all questions and coordination within your assigned area.
This also applies if you have not yet met your area leads in person; in that case, please reach out to the relevant persons directly as well.
Volunteer Handbook
In our Volunteer Handbook you will find all the important information regarding your assignment. Please read the handbook carefully to prepare yourself optimally for your role. If you were not able to attend today’s Kick-off Event, we kindly ask you to read the handbook with particular attention.
